Nikki Gershbain was awarded a Community Leaders in Justice Fellowship from the Law Foundation of Ontario to work with the NSRLP. As part of her Fellowship, Nikki will develop teaching tools for a new model of legal service delivery called legal “coaching”. Nikki is on leave as National Director of Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC). In 2013 and again in 2015, Nikki was nominated as one of Canadian Lawyer Magazine’s top 25 lawyers in the category “Changemakers”, for her work with PBSC. From 2004-2009 Nikki served as Executive Director of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she co-led a research and teaching project on access to civil justice for middle-income Canadians. Nikki earned her LL.B. from U of T in 2000 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002. Prior to law school, she earned an M.A. in Feminist Theory from the New School for Social Research, where she was a Fulbright Fellow.
