Law Reform
As a national leader in access to justice and self-representation, NSRLP’s law reform activities involve reviewing and commenting on the impact of existing as well as proposed laws, legal procedures, practice directions, and public legal information from the perspective of SRLs seeking to access justice.
NSRLP prepares both written and oral submissions to governments, courts, administrative and regulatory bodies, justice system insiders, and legal professional associations. At times these submissions are requested by such bodies; at other times they are prepared and sent independently.
In undertaking this work, the NSRLP seeks to reflect and amplify the voices and experiences of SRLs in the civil, administrative, and criminal justice system and as such, prepares any comments in the context of research data and engagement with SRLs in our daily work.
