Hi my is Brenda and I was wondering if you could help me get my disability scooter fixed it’s been almost a year and I have had one accident since. But all I’m getting from the company that is to fix my scooter is we are waiting for a part , and like I said it’s been almost a year . Can you help me ? Thanks and have a great day.
Hi Brenda, I’m sorry, but that’s not something we can help with. We are not a legal clinic, and don’t have the capacity to get involved with individual matters. You may want to check out our Directory of Professionals Assisting SRLs – this is a listing of (mainly) lawyers who offer lower cost legal services. https://representingyourselfcanada.com/directory/ (These lawyers are not endorsed by the NSRLP – always be sure to do your own due diligence.) Apologies we can’t offer more help.
I am asking about types of advocacy for partially disabled folks in the health care sector and housing
Hello Patricia, unfortunately this isn’t part of the scope of our work. But you might find ARCH helpful, if you are in Ontario: https://archdisabilitylaw.ca They specifically have a resources page which may have helpful things for you: https://archdisabilitylaw.ca/resources/ There is also the Council of Canadians with Disabilities – they have a list of member organizations across the country you may want to check out: http://www.ccdonline.ca/en/about/members
