We want to conclude our year at NSRLP with an appeal to all of our friends and supporters to contribute to social justice and access to justice causes this holiday season.
This past month in particular, with the announced closing of three Pro Bono Ontario centres followed by a successful campaign to (temporarily) keep the centres open via private donations (and a federal government contribution), it is clear that the broader community is increasingly aware of the benefit of A2J organizations and the great work they do in Ontario, the rest of Canada, and around the world.
As well as Pro Bono Ontario, and its sister organization Access Pro Bono BC, there are a lot of other organizations providing A2J services to the public that are in need of support. It is more important than ever to ensure that organizations that provide services directly to SRLs can continue their work. During December, NSRLP will be posting on social media about a variety of A2J organizations that could use your support. We would like to make a special pitch for you to consider making a charitable donation (you will receive a tax receipt) to the NSRLP. Whether you donate to the NSRLP or any of the other organizations we are posting about this month (follow us on Twitter and Facebook), we hope you’ll all join us in giving the gift of Access to Justice.
