NSRLP recently reviewed 2 new – and quite different – on-line Canadian resources designed to assist and support family SRLs.

T-46

Thistoo.co

Thistoo offers a suite of free tools designed to obtain an accurate picture of the financial implications of divorce, including: child support, spousal support, and asset-splitting calculators.

The site has 4 entry points: plan, organize, agree, resolve. Each category includes interactive and user-friendly tools which allow a user to gather and organize information, and also to actually move forward with their separation or divorce.

  • The price ranges from free, to a $19.99/month subscription. For free, the user may access support calculators (offering a clear picture of the financial implications of a divorce), a Document SmartList which can generate a personalized list of documents the user will need to prepare, and Task SmartList which gives a personalized to-do list. Subscribers see more benefits, as well as a 24-hour personalized and secure customer service. Other paid services include interactive templates for separation agreements and divorce applications. There is also a wide variety of unbundled / pick-and-choose services.

This website is definitely worth a look, even if it’s just to access the free applications. The applications are easy to use. Though the experience of divorce altogether is likely to be unpleasant, this site recognizes the challenges faced by SRLs and presents its paid and free services in a very readable and comprehensible manner.

  1. I was wrongfully convicted kicked out of my own house for the wrong doing of others, one big cover up.

  2. Jan Steen says:

RE your ‘Thistoo.co’ aids to legal marital/divorce docs… I take you back (if you were around) to 1968. Living in TO at the time, both being in the ‘THEATRE,’ my then wife and I purchased a ‘Divorce Kit’ from the Self-Counsel Press in Vancouver. A U S version out of California had been adjusted for Canadian laws, and I believe we were the first to use it. A well-known couple in ‘those circles’ we were lavishly covered by TV and Papers…Doing exactly as instructed, step-by-step, it worked perfectly. Mind you, all had to be preplanned by consent; ’cause if you are in a battle it ain’t gonna work! Lawyers take all…:(>
