This summer Sue and I worked for several weeks with a CBC TV crew investigating the SRL phenomenon, under the direction of veteran (and former Fifth Estate) executive producer Diane Grant. As well as filming here in Windsor and Kingsville, the crew also went to Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Alberta to conduct interviews with SRLs and legal system “insiders” that we facilitated.

The result is a 19-minute documentary entitled “The New Litigants” which will air on CBC’s The National on New Year’s Eve. If you are otherwise engaged in merriment that evening, be assured that we shall be promoting this important documentary via our social media in 2016.

I watched the documentary on CBC and immediately checked out the website. This documentary was very meaningful to my family as we have been stuck in family litigation. After spending over $80,000 in legal fees, I have made the decision to self-litigate because I cannot financially continue. Each time I see the courthouse I have panic attacks and having to speak on my own and “defend” myself is extremely difficult. The story on the Hopes touched me deeply. Thank you for doing this project and advocating change in the legal system.
